Well, so much for the highly anticipated Sunday Splatterfest... Only me, Hellfire, Moose/Sting, and The Happy Friar showed up. It was fun, but i really wish more people had came. On the plus side, community members of TastySpleen.net seem to be interested in the mod enough to possibly take a crack at the source code; fixing bugs, new menus, etc. AND Happy Friar mentioned hosting BotS for Sunday Splatterfest again in a few weeks! I'd just like to take a second to really thank the TastySpleen.net guys. They have a great community going, and i love that they are keeping old school q2 alive :)
Jaguar/Mierk and Sephiroth have joined the site. Woo!
TastySpleen.com and TastyCast Radio are featuring Quake 2 Battle of the Sexes for their Sunday Splatterfest. June 7 @ 9:00pm EST. This is a great opportunity to play q2Bots with full teams! I hope a good number of you can make it, we will need all the veteran help we can get. Check the forum thread for server information, links, and more.
Yesterday was David Smith's (Sidicas) birthday, Happy Birthday David!
So we had our first gathering last night. Me, CH, Miyago, and Moose all made it to the game. We even got some gametime in on Miyago's new map "Zerg BotS". Check out the screenshots in the media section. I want to give a shout to Miyago's brother, who was having compatibility issues, and Hellfire, who could only stay for a hot minute. Thanks for making an appearance at least :)
The good old {{SK}} Complex 4 server is back online! A huge thanks to Hellfire for setting it up, now we have max 32 clients, and everyone should have a decent connection. IP address is sk4.beafraid.com:27910. I have decommissioned my server in the meantime, and have updated all the server stats on this site with the {{SK}} Complex 4.
The Q2 BotS Page is completed. I finished copying all the old website info over last night. Let me know if anything is missing/extraneous/or just plain not right.
CH, being the BotS fanboy that he is, has promoted us on the TastySpleen.com forums. Looks like they will be hosting a "BotS Night" type thing sometime soon. Thanks again to CH for helping out.
I added a serverspy.net script to the left side column. Not sure how much i like it yet, but it gets the job done for now.
Also, check out the Q2 BotS Page. Lots up updates have gone up there. I now have the files hosted here, as well as the old class documentation, and quick reference.
Hey, today is Fredrik Ekholm's (Terror/Instant-RKnD-)'s birthday! Happy Birthday Fredrik! :)
I'm changing the layout of the site a little, adding content from the old archived pages. I changed the "Latest Activity" content to only include more pertinent information. Expect the Q2 BotS and Q3 BotS sections to be growing more rapidly in the next few days. Also, I just posted a Discussion about setting up a day and time to game. So please respond and we can get a schedule together.
Just checked out Hellfire's website. Nice of him to give us a shout :) Looks like we will have a nice dedicated server coming soon too!
I added a Q2 BotS and Q3 BotS section. With all these great old links showing up (thanks to {{CH}}) i decided to start copying them over to this site. Not much there right now, but I will be building it up as time goes.
{{CH}} has done some great investigative work. Check out his blog post for an old BotS documentation .zip and some archived links to the old BotS websites.

Check out this blast from the past. A bunch of us old BotS-heads posted reviews back around June-July 2000. Im assuming it was for the Q3 BotS Mod itself originally, but the website doesn't mention the actual mod anywhere. Funny, i don't even remember writing that. I was looking around for any public Quake 2 full version downloads, but it seems to only be available in full version as a .torrent. If you don't have the Quake 2 disc anymore, try looking on eBay for a copy or do the pirate thing. yarrr... |

There are no birthdays today
After almost a decade, we are finally re-uniting! Fans of the Battle of the Sexes game mod (Quake 2, Quake 3, almost Unreal Tournament, and almost Doom 3) are joining together once again!
Battle of the Sexes or BotS (originally created by Jesse “Spinoza” Herrera for Quake 2) is a Team Fortress/Capture the Flag mod with a twist. Instead of just red vs. blue, you have male vs. female. Each team with its own strengths and weaknesses. In addition, each team chooses from any of 8 (or 9) classes to play as, each with their own very special features.
